Sailing Departure Point
Our cruises in 'Cormorant' sail from (and return to) the South Quay of Mousehole Harbour (see Map below). Mousehole is approximately 2.75 miles south of Penzance (which is on the A30 which runs from the end of the M5 at Exeter, right down past Bodmin and Truro, and past Penzance to Lands End). For a map and directions, see below for more details.
Times of our trips are on two display boards which are located around the Harbour and these are are updated daily. Obviously the trips are tide and weather dependent so if you need information and don't want to have a wasted journey, please don't hesitate to contact us using the Contact page link above.
Getting to Mousehole
Getting there by Car
Using Satnav, the nearest Postcode to use is TR19 6RY
If you don't have a Satnav, then from the A30 and approaching Penzance from the East, watch out for the large Sainsbury's store on your right as you go along the A30 dual carriageway.
- Continue past Sainsbury's on the dual carriageway.
- At the roundabout, take the second exit to follow the signs for the A30 Lands End, (and the B3315 to Newlyn).
- After approx 2.6 miles (and three roundabouts), at the cross roads, take the left turn onto the B3315 signposted to Newlyn (and Mousehole).
- After approx 0.6 miles, at the Give Way sign, go straight ahead (signposted Mousehole).
- Go past Newlyn Harbour (on your left) and stay on the Coast Road (called Cliff Road) all the way to Mousehole village.
Parking in Mousehole?
Mousehole is an old, quaint and small fishing village which means it is unspoilt with modern developments, roads, and buildings. While this makes it very picturesque, it also means that the streets are narrow, easily congested, and there is limited parking available. There is space for parking around the south side of the harbour but the safer bet would be to park in the Public 'Pay and Display' car park (adjacent to the 'Old Coastguard Hotel') on the way into Mousehole on the coast road from Newlyn.
Using SatNav, the nearest Postcode for this Car Park is TR19 6PR.
Getting there by Public Transport
If using Public Transport, Penzance Bus Station is right outside Penzance Railway Station and you need the (First Kernow) Bus Company's 6 or 6A service to Mousehole, which goes direct to Mousehole Harbour, turns around, and returns to Penzance. This service runs every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday (last bus leaving Mousehole Harbour at 23:51) except Bank Holidays, and every hour during Evenings, Sundays, and Bank Holidays (last bus leaving 18:31 except between 1st June to 31st August when the last bus is 23:31).
