One of our most popular trips, this is your chance to explore the marine wildlife and magnificent coastline around the village of Mousehole onboard the Cormorant.
This 2 hour trip departs from and returns to the South Pier at Mousehole harbour.
Skipper Neil Brockman is a WiSe Accredited Wildlife Safe Operator which ensures Cormorant Cruising operates in a responsible manner to avoid the disturbance of animals and protects their wild nature.
Trips could encounter basking sharks, dolphins, grey seals, and seabirds in the rich and diverse waters that surround Mousehole. It’s especially exciting for our younger passengers to get a close up view of St Clement’s Island – a rocky outcrop which lays just off Mousehole where grey seals can often be seen basking in the sunshine.
Depending on conditions, trips will either go north passing the old Penlee lifeboat station on the way up to Newlyn, and round to Penzance with views of St Michael’s Mount across the bay, or if we turn south you will cruise down to the beautiful Lamorna Cove with distant views of the majestic Tater-du Lighthouse.
*Please note that all passengers need to have a reasonable level of fitness with the ability to climb up and down granite steps in order to board the Cormorant in Mousehole. If you have a problem with your mobility NEWLYN is the easiest and safest place to board the boat – wheelchair access from the shore to the Cormorant is available and our skipper will assist with safe boarding. Please make advanced contact should you need help boarding the Cormorant.
Only Guide Dogs and certified Assistance Dogs are allowed on board the Cormorant, and they may only board trips departing from Newlyn.
The precise trip itinerary/route is entirely at the discretion of the skipper and for your safety & comfort may vary from our listing due to tides, sea state and weather conditions. If it looks like the conditions are unsuitable your trip may be cancelled – if so you will receive notification via email, text or phone and a full refund given.
If the specific date and / or time of trip you are wanting is not available please drop us an enquiry at Info@cormorantcruising.co.uk as we may still be able to arrange a trip for you.
Mousehole Harbour
We had an excellent trip with Skipper Neil. We saw all the highlights of Newlyn, Mousehole and Lamorna and dolphins and seals in the wilds of Mount Bay. Neil runs a very professional operation and was great fun as our guide.
Great boat trip along the coast from Mousehole to Lamorna and beyond. Brilliant skipper – entertaining and full of interesting tales and Cornish maritime history.
Highly recommended!
Mousehole boat tour A*****
We visited Mousehole as part of a larger trip and knew that we wanted to include a boat tour in our holiday plans. We found Comorant Cruising online and read amazing things, which did not disappoint! Neil was an amazing host, really friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the local area and its history, he taught us a lot in a fun and informal style. We were also lucky enough to see dolphins, seals and birds in their natural habitat. Highly recommend!!
Ship Ahoy! Watch out for those dolphins!
We chose the two hour cruise from Mousehole harbour. The weather was a little bit overcast and the sea was quite choppy at times but this did NOT detract too much from our enjoyment. Neil, the skipper, did advise us that he could not guarantee sightings of dolphins or seals but he tried his best to chase them down – unfortunately they were camera shy that day. However, he did improvise with stories relating to the area and his experiences on the high seas. The saddest tale he told us was of the Penlee Lifeboat Disaster of 1981 to which he had a very personal connection. Overall a great way to spend two hours on the water and we would highly recommend pre-booking this trip as we believe it doesn’t run everyday.
This was our second time booking this boat tour and we loved it just as much as the last trip. Neil was brilliant and took us out to see dolphins, which the kids absolutely loved. There’s only space for 12 passengers at a time which is great as the kids were able to see from both sides. I personally think The Cormorant is better than other boat trips we’ve done on the past. Thank you for a brilliant morning out!
