Take a trip up the coast, passing Newlyn and Penzance, to view what many regard as Cornwall’s most iconic landmark – the majestic St Michael’s Mount.
This 2 hour trip departs from and returns to the South Pier at Mousehole harbour.
Perched on top of a great granite crag, St Michael’s Mount rises majestically out of the sea in Mount’s Bay. St Michael’s Mount is an island at high tide and a romantic sight. Steeped in both legend and folklore, St Michael’s Mount is a tidal island linked to the town of Marazion by a man-made granite causeway, passable between mid-tide and low water. Originally the site of a Benedictine Chapel, the spectacular castle on the rock dates from the 14th Century. It is managed by the National Trust, and the castle and chapel have been the home of the St Aubyn family since approximately 1650. Get a unique view of this stunning landmark few visitors ever get to see from the comfort and safety of the Cormorant.
*Please note that all passengers need to have a reasonable level of fitness with the ability to climb up and down granite steps in order to board the Cormorant. Mousehole Harbour
Thank you for a lovely boat trip, welcoming, friendly and informative. It was a pleasure to be out on the water with you and a privilege to learn about the history of such a special stretch of the coast, with its huge significance to fishermen and lifeboat men alike.
A fabulous way to spend a few hours…
This was the second trip on the Cormorant that I’d booked for one of my walking groups, and it did not disappoint.
Neil and Elaine entertained us with fascinating stories of their childhood growing up in Mousehole, along with tales of the sea. The story of the Penlee lifeboat disaster was so moving, especially as it was so personal to them both, and it brought tears to our eyes.
The weather wasn’t great but Neil did everything he could to give us an excellent experience, whilst keeping us safe.
I would highly recommend this trip, and look forward to doing it again soon.
What a fabulous experience…..
It’s very hard to write something that has not already been said about Neil and his wonderful trips, but I will try, this was a birthday treat for me (12th May) and the weather was beautiful, we had booked for a trip to St Michael’s Mount, Neil welcomed us aboard and gave us some very interesting local information about Mousehole, then we got underway, It must be extremely hard for him to tell the Penlee lifeboat story with such strong connections to the event, but he made it so interesting, we proceeded to Newlyn and went into the harbour where Neil gave us a fascinating insight into the fishing industry, new and old.
Then our wonderful trip progressed to St Michael’s mount, all the time Neil is giving lots of interesting information about the whole area, the mount looked beautiful in the morning sunlight and he managed to take us over the sunken causeway, the water was so clear. Then homeward bound across the bay.
Neil is very experienced and knows the bay like the back of his hand, I would not hesitate on recommending a Comorant boat trip and I’am already looking forward to the next time that I’am in the area to book again….
Thank you Neil.. ⚓️⚓️⚓️
Wow! This was worth every penny, Neil is so informative and the views are great. We would definitely recommend this trip. We took the two hour trip out to St Michaels Mount for two people. Thank you again Neil!
A great trip in a beautiful location. Neil was friendly and engaging. It was great to meet someone clearly passionate and knowledgeable about the local area; a real character!
