Join our skipper Neil Brockman for a voyage of discovery with tales of wrecks, lifesaving and lifeboats. Neil is a Mousehole boy born and bred with a lifetime of maritime experience – he was the coxswain of the Penlee Lifeboat from 1993 until 2008 serving a total of 30 years with the RNLI. Neil, a decorated coxswain and proud holder of the RNLI Bronze Medal for gallantry, and a number of RNLI commendations, is the middle son of Assistant Mechanic Nigel Brockman, who tragically lost his life onboard the Solomon Browne lifeboat on December 19th, 1981.

Neil has an extensive knowledge of Mount’s Bay, its rugged coastline, caves, rocks, wrecks and maritime history. He will share his first hand experience of daring rescues, lifesaving and the sad loss of the Solomon Browne lifeboat.

The remote and rugged west coast of Cornwall, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the English Channel, is spectacularly beautiful. However, it also has an uncompromising lee shore, notorious to mariners throughout history as a wrecking coast. Your trip will take you from Newlyn to Porthcurno, taking in the old lifeboat station at Penlee Point and many wreck sites on route – a lifeboat enthusiasts dream!

All our trips are entirely weather & tide dependent – as your overall safety & comfort is of paramount importance to us, if it looks like the conditions are unsuitable your trip will be cancelled and a full refund given. Please note that the precise trip itinerary/route is entirely at the discretion of the skipper and may vary from our listing due to tides, sea state and weather conditions.

We did a 3 hour Wreck trip from Newlyn to Porthcurno on Saturday afternoon. Neil, our wonderful skipper, stopped at different spots on route to talk about wrecks over the years, showing some fascinating photos as we went.. it was so interesting and we learnt so much! Neil is a very knowledgable man with a huge amount of maritime experience and this, together with his great sense of humour makes him really interesting to listen to as he has many stories to tell. The views from the boat to shoreline are also stunning making this a real trip to remember. We would highly recommend .. thank you again!

A great trip in a beautiful location. Neil was friendly and engaging. It was great to meet someone clearly passionate and knowledgeable about the local area; a real character!

Booked a cruise via email before we visited Cornwall. Neil made this process really easy. The cruise was great, Neil is full of knowledge of the area and made the cruise fun and interesting. Definitely value for money (even though the dolphins were shy). Would highly recommend. from UK, September 2020
